The Music Portal, in conjunction with VTown Cartel Music, is a publishing and boutique music production house that licenses music to television, film, commercials, and video games.

How does it work?

If your tracks are selected, they will automatically be distributed to networks and companies for immediate use. Networks with current agreements include CBS Paramount, Warner Bros and MTV including NCIS, Beverly Hills 90210, Harper's Island, The Game, Sweet 16, Engaged and Underage, Cribs, Bones, Cold Case, ER, Gossip Girl, Grey's Anatomy, Mad Men, The OC, One Tree Hill, Privileged, Supernatural, The Mentalist, V, Smallville, and many more.

• No membership fee, no submission fees
• You receive 50% of the licensing fees we receive for your music, plus performance royalties thru ASCAP, BMI, or SESAC for every play.
• Guaranteed distribution and exposure
• Digital watermark with domestic and international scans for accurate reporting

The Music Portal was founded in response to the ineffectiveness of the traditional music business model. Traditional record deals are harder to come by while artists, bands, and producers are looking for more ways to bring in revenue from their music.

In response, The Music Portal and VTown Cartel Music have created a boutique production music catalog containing only the best tracks from creatives all over the world.  Net revenue is split 50/50 between you and the publisher. In most cases, you are free to pursue other opportunities such as selling your music online and selling cds at shows with no conflict.
