Digital Fingerprinting Announced

VTown Cartel announced today that it has finalized an agreement with TuneSat, which will digitally fingerprint and watermark all VTown Cartel tracks. In addition, the service will scan all major domestic networks as will as specific international territories.

This partnership will be a key factor in auditing and keeping track of performance royalties for all VTown Cartel partners. The TuneSat, in addition to network log information, will be a component in dealing with the performing right’s organizations to make sure they are properly paying out VTown Cartel artists for the correct number of plays as well as ensuring that cue sheet information is entered correctly, not mentioning that they are properly submitted to the performing right’s organizations.

The best way of describing the technology is similar to that of iPhone’s “Shazam”. Music files are uploaded and a fingerprint is taken which is linked to database information. Television programming is recorded on a server. When a “detection” occurs, an mp3 of the program is recorded and an entry in the database is made including date, time, network, show name, episode name, track name, composer, publisher, and other vital details.

This service and feature will be implemented for all VTown Cartel artists and bands it represents.
